Roughing it isnât really your style? Then Srebrno jezero (Silver Lake) is an ideal middle ground. There youâll find organized campsites with pools, kidsâ activities, and cafes nearby. As such, this gorgeous lake attracts families or anyone who likes a bit of comfort with their campfire

Two hours from Belgrade, DivÄibare is where you go for a quick escape without making it complicated. Enjoy forest walks, picnic areas, and little cafes with tea and rakija. Families love it here because it’s chill and doesn’t require hardcore camping skills.
Uvac is ridiculously gorgeous. The emerald river winds through the tall cliffs, and there are griffon vultures just floating around above you like they’re showing off. Set up your tent near the water, and the view will mess with your head a little â it doesn’t look quite real. Oh, and definitely bring a camera.
Stara Planina (Old Mountain) is wild in the best way. Waterfalls deep inside the woods, horses just wandering around, flowers everywhere, and at night, the stars are insane. Camp here and you’ll probably forget your phone exists. Getting a little lost is part of the experience, and honestly, it’s not the worst thing that could happen to you.
Before you roll out your tent, itâs good to know a few local doâs and donâts.
In Serbia, wild camping is generally allowed, but not everywhere. So, itâs smart to check if youâre near protected land or private property.
That said, locals are generally relaxed and friendly â if you ask politely, most will happily let you set up camp on their land (and might even offer you coffee or rakija). Also, national parks have their own rules, so donât forget to check before you settle in.
And when it comes to fires, use common sense: safe spots only, never in dry forests, and always put it out completely before bed.
